Edwardian Ladies Collage Stamp - Project Ideas
Details from Susie: The Edwardian Ladies collage stamp by Darkroom Door is a delight to work with! I stamped the image directly onto a white shipping tag with Versafine Onxy Black ink, heat set it and then coloured the image with Distress Makers and an Aquash brush to create a watercolour effect. Then it was simply a matter of adding lovely layers of vintage paper, fabrics, lace, washi tape and some gorgeous velvet flowers.

Connie Mercer has used the Edwardian Ladies on a scrapbook page:
Details from Connie: I was so excited to see this stamp set~I knew I had the perfect photo's to make a cute scrapbooking layout. I used the Collage stamp by Darkroom Door called the Edwardian Ladies . I stamped it out on cardstock, with brown ink, and used like an embellishment. I also used the Tag set, Just My Style set, 1920's Chic set and the Journal set.

Teresa Abajo has created a stunning card:
Details from Teresa: This stamp is so so very vintage! It looks like an ad out of an old French newspaper. I have coloured the ladies' dresses with my Old Paper Distress Marker. The frame itself is just divine - here I have added some liquid pearls, and I'm sure it's going to come in handy around other vintage images too.
Hope you've enjoyed going back in time today!
Happy stamping!
Film Frame Stamp - Project Ideas
Here's what Godelieve has created with this stamp:
Details from Godelieve:
The card is 12.5 cm square (5 inch).
Next up is a card from Teresa:
Here I have used it to frame a photochip of a couple from the Venetian collection. I stamped the film frame onto some acetate, which made it a breeze to position it onto the card. It's such a romantic image, exactly what I needed for an anniversary card.
Details from Marjie: I paired the new Darkroom Door Film Frame stamp with a Stampers Anonymous face/text stamp, stamping them on tissue paper and adhering to the page with Gel Medium. I went around the edges with a black Gelato from Faber-Castell.
When adhering tissue to your page it helps to tear rather than cut your edges, as they tend to blend into the page better this way:
Connie shows us how to incorporate the Film Frame into scrapbook pages:

Details from Connie:
The Film Frame Stamp is fast becoming a fave for me. I stamped it three times to make the filmstrip, I stapled the endstogether, to get one continuous film strip.
A close-up of the film strip ~looks real, right!!
Triangles Background Stamp - Project Ideas
Hi everyone! Today we are sharing project ideas using the Triangles Background Stamp!
First up, a gorgeous Baby set of wrapping paper and card by Sephi:
Method - wrapping paper
1. Stamp a large sheet of brown paper with the triangles background stamp. Use three shades of ink and stamp in a block pattern. Repeat until the paper is covered. Roll and tie with string.
Method - card
1. Stamp kraft card with the triangles background stamp using white ink.
2. Attach a Hello Baby photochip to the stamped card and embellish it with a ribbon bow.
3. Cut triangles from scraps of patterned paper and adhere them across the photochip. Stitch buttons to the bunting for added interest.
4. Cut along one edge of cream card with decorative scissors. Affix behind the kraft card and attach the whole thing to a blue base.
5. Finish with a Hello Baby wordstrip.

Details: When I went to stamp on the pattern paper I rolled the stamp, trying not to get those sharp edges. I achieved that in some places andnot in other places:):)

Art Journal page by Marjie:
Details: I used the Triangles Background stamp along with some favorite stencils and a few older stamps. This background stamp is quite large (6" wide) and would make a bold background stamped repeatedly in its entirety:

Or you can roll the Triangles Background and use small sections of it, getting just a few triangles here and there (as I did here, rolling it without a mount):

I used Gel Medium through a large triangle stencil as a base and then stamped the smaller triangles on top of it. I used Ranger's Distress Markers to color in some of the triangles and all of the letters.

A gorgeous card by Melissa:
Details: One of my favorite techniques to use on background stamps is embossing. Sometimes background stamps can get lost on the card, but by embossing your background images, it helps these wonderful stamps come to life and can create a focal point such as on my card today using the new Triangles Background Stamp.
I first stamped my background using Versamark Watermark ink and then embossed the background image using three different colors, silver, Zing Leaf, and Zing Blush. I love the glossy texture it adds. I then cut the flowers from a Viva La Flora Photochip and adhered them to the card front followed by my sentiment cut from the Bright Blossoms Wordstrip.
A quick and easy card to put together for someone special.
Thanks for visiting! We all hope you enjoyed our ideas today!

Crackle Background Stamp - Project Ideas
First, Godelieve has created some tags:
Details: I stamped the Crackle background with Distress Ink #Old Paper on white cardstock. Then I overstamped the crackles with 2 large tags and two small ones from the Tags Rubber Stamp Set, using Ranger Archival ink #Coffee. The background stamps are large enough to cut these 4 tags.
To finish off these labels I used gingham ribbon, twine and a Viva Pearl Pen.
Darkroom Door stamp : Crackle Background
Darkroom Door paper : Bright Blossoms Vol 1 Filmstrips, Bright Blossoms Wordstrips
Ranger Distress Inkpads : Wild Honey, Barn Door
Next up is Hels with a fabbo canvas!
The canvas is an 8" square, coloured with Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints, using my fave Traditional Tan for the base and then using Sable Brown mixed with Traditional Tan to make an in-betweeny colour and then the Sable Brown on its own for the darker colour on the top layer. I used the scraped paint technique to apply the paints, I loves this technique and it goes perfectly with the new Crackle stamp.
To add the stamping to the canvas, I first got a Kleenex tissue and de-plyed it so it was a single layer. The crackle was stamped using Jet Black Archival Ink and zapped with a heat tool to dry the ink off. I then tore pieces of the image and applied it to the canvas using Glue & Seal Matte to collage over it. The reason I use a cosmetic tissue is that when it is torn on the edges, the Glue & Seal kind of melts it into the canvas so it doesn't just look like it has been plonked on there.
I set about adding some texture, using a Claudine Hellmuth stencil and some 490 Embossing Paste (black) and once this had dried I went right over the top of the whole canvas with more Glue & Seal to provide a nice waterproof coverage to it. Out came the old Stabilo All pencil to add some shading to th textured parts and once I had blended this part, I painted my two-tone edges - yep, I am a smidge addicted but hey, there's nowt wrong with being addicted to paint right?
I added a pile of flowers (coloured with Dylusions sprays and Cosmic Shimmer spray) and then set about embellishing the canvas. The large metal butterfly is actually a Graphic 45 embellishment, I simply jazzed him up by stamping the crackle background over him using the Black Archival Ink and then heat setting it - remember, you needs to heat set Archival Ink as it is oil based... but totally waterproof when set... perfect! The word is actually one of the new Sizzix Alterations Stacked Words dies from Tim Holtz... the whole word is ARTIST but I only wanted the ART bit so I snipped into it and then used Treasure Gold to color the black card it was cut from. I also added Treasure Gold (liberally lol) to the rest of the embellies and textured bits. The finishing touch is the little orange butterfly which is also a Darkroom Door stamp - he is from the Wings set. And there you have it... one finished mixed media canvas... and pretty simples to create at that :o))

Nomad Stamp Set Projects by Anna-Karin Evaldsson
These stamps are perfect for a travel layout:
I decided to use an old photo of my dad and his best friend in a boat, taken during a holiday trip. The background is kraft-core cardstock which was sanded and stamped with some of the sentiments and images using black ink. It is hard to see on this photo. The Journey Word Block stamp works very well together with the Nomad set. I die cut three tags from manila cardstock for a photo mat, inked the stamp with Vintage Photo and Broken China, misted with water and stamped repeatedly, reinking between each impression.
I used an old map paper in the background and whitewashed it with Distress Paint (Picket Fence and Antique Linen) to tone down the colours. The passport stamps and post card were stamped here and there on the background. I also stamped the post card on an inked piece of manila cardstock, cut it out and tucked under the tags.
I used one of the sentiment stamps as my title. Since I wanted to stamp it on a banner, I masked first 'journey' when I inked it up, stamped and then did the same again, only masking 'enjoy the' this time.
The stack of suitcases was stamped on cream cardstock and the three solid suitcases were embossed with different colours Distress embossing powders (Fired Brick, Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint). I stamped it one more time and embossed with black embossing powder and inked the two remaining suitcases. The suitcases were cut out and stacked on top of each other. I cut out words from the Prague Vol. 1 Wordstrip to use on the layout. I also die cut three different Filmstrip images, from New York Vol. 2 and London Vol. 2, with a postage die.
Love this old worn suitcase. I embossed it with Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder and stamped it again on top of the melted embossing powder with Stazon Jet Black, to make it darker around the edges. The sentiment was stamped on a piece of transparency and layered on top.

I also made an accordion mini-book:
This would be a perfect gift for someone who loves to travel. I used all the stamps in the Nomad set, they of course work perfectly together. To make the mini-book, I used Karen Burniston's Sizzix Accordion Flip 3-D Album die, but to fit with the stamps, I made it double high (7 in tall) instead of its ordinary height (see how to do this here). I used Sydney Montage photos and Prague Vol. 2 Wordstrip to embellish the mini-book, both fit so well together with the stamps.
Here you can see the album flat, before I adhered the pages together.
When you close the album, the first page flips over to become the front. I love this great sentiment. The passport stamp from Nomad was stamped repeatedly around the edges and I also stamped it on the car and on the arrow. Both the car and arrow were die cut from grungeboard, inked with Distress Inks (Gathered Twigs and Broken China) and coated with Glossy Accents. There is a piece of mica behind the windows of the car. I also used two word stamps from Venetian Vol. 1 ('journey' and 'explore').
It is easier to take photos of the inside pages before assembly, so here you can see the flaps used to attach the pages together. The stack of suitcases was stamped with Archival Jet Black ink on text patterned paper. One suitcase was inked with Broken China and one with Gathered Twigs. The page was finished with a beautiful Sydney photo and some wordstrips.
I thought the Sydney photo with the pointing statue worked really well on a travel mini-book. Here I used more word cut outs and a vintage globe.
The Vintage Globe was die cut twice from grungeboard, first covering one of the pieces with a text paper scrap. The latter was used for the continents. The globe was inked with Broken China and the stand with Gathered Twigs. I stamped the water repeatedly with the passport stamp from Nomad. After gluing the continents to the globe, the whole thing was coated with Glossy Accents.
The last page in the mini-book. The suitcase was stamped with black ink on a piece of manila cardstock which had been coloured with Distress Stains (Antique Linen, Broken China, Brushed Pewter). The post card was stamped on another piece of the same paper. I was happy to discover that the World Traveller and the Enjoy the Journey stamps fit perfectly on a mini ticket die cut. Here you can also see the stamping around the edges better.
