Abstract 04 Stamp Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Friday, September 20, 2019

Hi there! We have recently released a new series of stamps called Abstract Stamps! As the name suggests, these stamp designs are abstract in style so they can be used to add layers, borders or any extra element to your projects without being a specific subject matter. They are fabulous for gel printing, creating texture in thick embossing powders and clay, or simply used as stamps for your card and art journals.

We have released 4 new ones and today we’d like to share some card ideas using the Abstract 04 Stamp

Here are some great project ideas from Belinda Spencer:

On this card, Belinda has used the Abstract 04 Stamp as a strong element in the background. It really makes an impact on the card!

Belinda has used a monochrome palette on this scrapbook page with the Abstract 04 Stamp used to add some texture to the background. Simply stunning!!

For this art journal page, Belinda created a collaged and painted background, and stamped the Abstract 04 Stamp on top. It created the perfect base for the Gum Trees Stamps to sit on top.

To read more about Belinda’s projects, visit her blog here.

Next we have some wonderful projects by Connie Mercer.

Connie’s inspiration for these cards was to create a little squirrel hole in the middle of the stamp to make it appear like wood. Connie also used the Polka Dots stencil (to create the sponged squirrel hole), Carved Leaves Vol 1 Stamp Set and Robin Eclectic Stamp

A great idea for the Abstract Stamps is to create bookmarks! Connie created a series of bookmarks with the Abstract 04 Stamp and sponged words from the Awesome & Creativity Stencils.

Connie has used all four Abstract Stamps on this art journal page! It’s a great way to create texture and detail on your pages!

Next we have some projects by Robyn Wood:

Robyn has created some fabulous texture by clear embossing the Abstract 04 Stamp and dusting Perfect Pearl mica powders over the top to create metallic embossed texture. It’s a fabulous technique and looks great with the Abstract Stamps!

Robyn has used the Abstract 04 Stamp in the background of her art journal page by gel printing with the stamps. It creates some fun texture to the background! To read how Robyn created her projects, visit her blog here.

These are just a few ideas to show how this stamp will look on your projects! If you’d like to see more Abstract Stamp projects, check out our Abstract Stamps Pinterest Board!

Abstract 03 Stamp Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Tuesday, August 27, 2019

We have released 4 new ones and today we’d like to share some card ideas using the Abstract 03 Stamp

Here are some great card ideas from Connie Mercer:

On this card, Connie has created a full background using the Abstract 03 stamp and used the small Wildflowers Stencil to create a nice silhouette flower image over the top.

These next cards are like a paper piecing project using various Abstract Stamps to create a grid of pattern!

On these two cards, Connie created backgrounds again using the Abstract 03 and the Criss Cross Texture Stamp with a Succulent Stamp on top.

To read more about Connie’s cards, visit her blog here.

Next we have some wonderful projects by Anneke De Clerck.

This card was created with Distress Oxide Inks to colour the background and the tissue paper, then stamped over the top using the Abstract 03 Stamp with Watering Can Archival Ink. The sentiment from the Tall Flowers Stamp Set looks great next to the Abstract Stamp! To read more about this card, visit Anneke’s blog here

This next card shows how good the Abstract Stamps look when embossed. It gives a nice texture to your card. Here’s a close up:

Anneke also used the small Polka Dots Stencil for the background and the bear from Hello Baby Vol 1 Stamp Set. It’s a great baby card! Read more about it here.

The Abstract Stamps look great in art journals to add layers to your pages! To read how Anneke created this page, please visit her blog here.

Next we have some great cards and journal pages by Robyn Wood:

Robyn has used Distress Oxide inks to create a fun colourful background for this card! The Happy Quote was stamped and trimmed to go over the top.

Robyn used a gel plate to create the backgrounds for these journal pages and finished off with some stamping. Of course you could use any of the new Abstract Stamps and mix and match to make your own patterns.

See Robyn's full tutorial here.

Abstract 02 Stamp Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Tuesday, August 06, 2019

We have released 4 new ones and today we’d like to share some card ideas using the Abstract 02 Stamp:

Here is a great card idea from Anneke De Clerck:

On this card, Anneke has used a resist technique to create a fun background, then added the Cupcake Eclectic Stamp on top. Here you can see how the backgrounds were created before they were made into cards:

You can read the full tutorial here.

Next we have some wonderful projects by Connie Mercer.

Connie has used the Abstract 02 Stamp to create layers in this art journal page.

This is a great idea to create a border using the Abstract 02 stamp! Connie used a strip of images from the Portrait Inchies Stamp Set over the border.

Connie has created some bold background prints using the Abstract 02 stamp and coloured the circles in different colours. Very vibrant and fun!

To read more information on how Connie created these projects, please visit her blog here.

Next we have some great cards and tag by Robyn Wood:

A simple border can add a nice touch to a card! Robyn used the Garden Birds and Carved Leaves stamps on this card too.

Robyn used a gel plate to create the background for this card. Very subtle and adds a nice touch to the card.

Another great way to add a background element to your tags! You can read more about Robyn’s projects here.

Here’s another idea from Anneke De Clerck showing how you can create gel printed pages to create a travel journal cover!

How fun would this be to take on your travels!! Here’s a look at how the Abstract 02 stamp looks on your gel plate before making the print:

So much fun to use! Of course you could use any of the new Abstract Stamps and mix and match to make your own patterns.

See Anneke's full tutorial here.

Abstract 01 Stamp Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Tuesday, July 16, 2019

We have released 4 new ones and today we’d like to share some card ideas using the Abstract 01 Stamp

First up we have a clever idea by Belinda Spencer where she has used the Abstract 01 Stamp as stems for the flowers!

Belinda used flowers from the Carved Flowers and Gardening Vol 2 Stamp Sets, along with the Fallen Leaves Background Stamp to create this card.

The Abstract 01 stamp is great for adding stamped layers to art journal pages, like Belinda has done in these two art journal spreads:

Aren’t these amazing!! To read more about Belinda’s projects, please visit her blog here.

Here are some great card ideas from Godelieve Tijskens:

On this card, Godelieve has used Scribble Sticks to ink up the stamp to create a watercolour effect in the stamping. You can read the full tutorial here.

For this card Godelieve has created am ombre background, then die cut a circle from the centre and turned it around to create a positive/negative effect. A clever way to add more interest to your cards! See more details here.

Godelieve has also used the Abstract 01 stamp to add layers to her art journal. Read more about how this page was created here.

Next we have some wonderful projects by Connie Mercer. Connie has used the Abstract 01 Stamp to create some fabulous bold backgrounds for her cards:

Connie has stamped the Abstract 01 stamp in two different coloured inks and in different directions to create the background. The shells stamped on top are from the Seashells Stamp Set

Connie has created a more subtle background for this card by using lighter inks. Isn’t it pretty! The stamps used on top are the Artist Brushes and Paint Splats Stamp Sets

Here is an art journal page where Connie has used the Abstract 01 as a part of the background layers. It’s a great stamp to add to your art journal pages!
