Lake Wanaka Photo Stamp Ideas

Darkroom Door - Friday, August 30, 2019

Hi there! We have recently released a new series of Photo Stamps! Today we’d like to share some ideas and cards using the Lake Wanaka Photo Stamp!

This is a detailed stamp which will stamp beautifully with permanent inks like the Ranger Archival Ink. It can be stamped over coloured backgrounds or you could use different colours of ink over a plain background. Lots of options! Here’s a few ideas:

This card by Rachel Greig was stamped with Archival Jet Black ink onto Specialty Stamping Paper and coloured in with Distress Inks and a water brush. It’s a subtle way to add colour to the image.

Here are some beautiful cards by Heather Telford:

Heather has created three different cards for different seasons. The real Lake Wanaka (in New Zealand) changes colour with the different seasons and Heather has brought those colours to life in each of her cards! Here’s the other two cards:

To see how Heather created these cards, please visit her blog here.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these ideas! If you’d like to see more ideas using Photo Stamps, please check out the Photo Stamps Pinterest Board.

You can also find all of our Photo Stamps here.

Happy creating!

Defining abstract art is not a straight forward task. Unlike many other styles, abstract art don't portray objects as they are in real life. Before the foundation of this style, artists focused on illustrating human civilization and the world of nature. Abstract artworks experiment with the use of texture, tone, and light perception. Through abstract works, painters express their feelings rather than particular objects or scenes.
