Scissors Eclectic Stamp Ideas

Darkroom Door - Tuesday, August 20, 2019

Hi there! We have recently released a new series of Eclectic Stamps! One of the new stamps in this release is Scissors

This stamp is great for any maker - from quilters, scrapbookers, card makers, or any type of maker who uses scissors! Connie Mercer has created some fabulous cards using this stamp, let’s take a look:

This first card shows how it can be used with the Needle & Thread Eclectic Stamp, which is also a new stamp. Connie has also used the Postage Stamp Frame Stamp and the Gazette Background Stamp, along with the Plaid Texture Stamp

This is a beautiful soft card using the Scissors Eclectic Stamp with the Handwriting Stamp Set. The soft greys make it a simple yet stunning card.

The Scissors Eclectic Stamp is great to use with the Sewing Spools Background Stamp! I love the stamping and colouring Connie has used for the background here, it’s quite soft but has a grungy look with that type of background stamp! Love it! Here’s another card but with a different sentiment:

Bird Life Stamp Set Card Ideas

Darkroom Door - Thursday, August 15, 2019

Hi there stampers! Today we have lots of wonderful projects to show you using the Bird Life Stamp Set! This set was designed by Godelieve Tijskens and includes a bird house, bird bath, nest, branches and 3 cute little birds that can be used together in so many ways!

Let’s take a look at how these stamps can be used:

This is a little booklet created by Godelieve using just one sheet of paper. Since there are so many stamps in the Bird Life set, you can make lots of little scenes to decorate the pages! Godelieve shares a full tutorial on her blog here.

This card shows how the little birds fit into the bird bath stamp. The background was stencilled using the Short Rectangle, Butterflies, Arty Circles and Wellbeing stencils! See more details here.

This card shows how you can stamp the branches a few times to make a complete tree! The little birds look great sitting on the branches! See more details on Godelieve’s blog here

Next we have 4 ideas from Suzz Czosek.

Suzz has combined the Book Stack Photo Stamp with the birds! It’s a great combination and they look so sweet sitting on the different books!

For this one Suzz used the Coffee Stain Eclectic Stamp and French Script & Chicken Wire Texture Stamps to create a background. Then stamps the branches and bird and layered them on top. Its a beautiful card!

These are some sweet placards for a table setting at a dinner party! Such a great idea!

Suzz has created a wire for the little birds to sit on and created a bookmark! Another great idea! You can read more about Suzz’s projects on her blog here.

Next we have some fabulous cards by Connie Mercer:

Connie has created a set of cards combining lots of the stamps to use to create backgrounds and then as a main feature image for the cards. Aren’t they pretty!

Connie has also created an art journal page and combined the Bird Life stamps with the Friends Quote Stamp! She has created a hanging bird box with the bird house stamp in that set too by trimming off the post.

Our final project to share is a scrapbook page where Connie has used photos of birds splashing around in a bird bath! Perfect stamps to use for this layout!

You can read all about Connie’s projects on her blog here.

As you can see, there are so many ways the Bird Life Stamp Set can be used! If you’d like to see more projects from this stamp set, check out the Pinterest Board!

Hexagon Set Small Stencil Ideas

Darkroom Door - Sunday, August 11, 2019

Hi there! Today we are sharing lots of different ways to use the new Hexagon Stencil Set! This stencil set consists of a hexagon shape stencil with the matching solid shape.

There are lots of different ways you can use this stencil set. Here’s a some ideas from Anneke De Clerck:

Anneke has created a patchwork background by sponging Dina Wakley Media Acrylic Paints through the stencil. Doesn’t it create a colourful background! Anneke has used the Fine Leaves Stamps over the top and a sentiment from Simple Sayings Vol 1 Stamp Set. Read more about it here.

Here’s another patchwork style background, but this time Anneke has stamped different Background Stamps through the stencil to create a variety of patterns. You can read how it was done here.

Next is a sweet journal cover using the Inky Script Background Stamp through the Hexagon Stencil. It adds a nice touch to the front of the notebook!

It gives a lovely texture! Read more here.

Anneke sponged Distress Ink through the stencil to create three coloured shapes, then cut them out to make a nice background for her card! The colour really pops with the black and white stamping on top! Read more on Anneke’s blog here.

This is a journal page by Godelieve Tijskens where she has traced around the hexagon stencil and then sponged ink inside using a gradient effect. Texture Stamps were stamped inside to add some pattern. You can read more on Godelieve’s blog here.

Birds On Tree Photo Stamp Ideas

Darkroom Door - Thursday, August 08, 2019

Hi there! We have recently released a new series of Photo Stamps! Today we’d like to share some ideas and cards using the Birds On Tree Photo Stamp.

This is a detailed stamp which will stamp beautifully with permanent inks like the Ranger Archival Ink. It can be stamped over coloured backgrounds or you could use different colours of ink over a plain background. Lots of options! Here’s a few ideas:

This card by Belinda Spencer was stamped with Archival Jet Black ink over a Distress Ink background. Belinda also used the Mesh Background Stamp, Feathers Stamp Set and the sentiment is from the Gum Trees Stamp Set.

This next card by Belinda shows how it can be used for a sympathy card. The circle mask from the Small Circle Stencil Set was used to create a moon in the background. Such a simple yet stunning effect that works so well with this stamp! Other stamps Belinda used were: Splatter Background Stamp, Feathers Stamp Set and the sentiment from the Gum Trees Stamp Set

The Birds On Tree Photo Stamp

can also be used as a border in your journals! Just mask off the top border of the stamp so you only get the trees and it creates a fabulous border! To read the full instructions for all of Belinda’s projects, head over to her blog here.

Next we have some projects by Connie Mercer:

Connie has created a wonderful series of cards using this stamp and as they say, great minds think alike as Connie has also used the Feathers Stamp Set at the base of the card! The sentiment is from the Whimsical Words Stamp Set

For this card Connie has stamped the Birds On Tree in 3 different coloured inks and created a filmstrip using the Filmstrip Border Stamp. The sentiment is from the Love Birds Stamp Set. Here are two more cards created in a similar way, but without the filmstrip:

To see how Connie created these projects, read the full tutorial here.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these ideas! If you’d like to see more ideas using Photo Stamps, please check out the Photo Stamps Pinterest Board. You can also find all of our Photo Stamps here.

Abstract 02 Stamp Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Tuesday, August 06, 2019

Hi there! We have recently released a new series of stamps called Abstract Stamps! As the name suggests, these stamp designs are abstract in style so they can be used to add layers, borders or any extra element to your projects without being a specific subject matter. They are fabulous for gel printing, creating texture in thick embossing powders and clay, or simply used as stamps for your card and art journals.

We have released 4 new ones and today we’d like to share some card ideas using the Abstract 02 Stamp:

Here is a great card idea from Anneke De Clerck:

On this card, Anneke has used a resist technique to create a fun background, then added the Cupcake Eclectic Stamp on top. Here you can see how the backgrounds were created before they were made into cards:

You can read the full tutorial here.

Next we have some wonderful projects by Connie Mercer.

Connie has used the Abstract 02 Stamp to create layers in this art journal page.

This is a great idea to create a border using the Abstract 02 stamp! Connie used a strip of images from the Portrait Inchies Stamp Set over the border.

Connie has created some bold background prints using the Abstract 02 stamp and coloured the circles in different colours. Very vibrant and fun!

To read more information on how Connie created these projects, please visit her blog here.

Next we have some great cards and tag by Robyn Wood:

A simple border can add a nice touch to a card! Robyn used the Garden Birds and Carved Leaves stamps on this card too.

Robyn used a gel plate to create the background for this card. Very subtle and adds a nice touch to the card.

Another great way to add a background element to your tags! You can read more about Robyn’s projects here.

Here’s another idea from Anneke De Clerck showing how you can create gel printed pages to create a travel journal cover!

How fun would this be to take on your travels!! Here’s a look at how the Abstract 02 stamp looks on your gel plate before making the print:

So much fun to use! Of course you could use any of the new Abstract Stamps and mix and match to make your own patterns.

See Anneke's full tutorial here.

These are just a few ideas to show how this stamp will look on your projects! If you’d like to see more Abstract Stamp projects, check out our Abstract Stamps Pinterest Board!

Candles Eclectic Stamp Ideas

Darkroom Door - Friday, August 02, 2019

Hi there! We have recently released a new series of Eclectic Stamps! One of the new stamps in this release is Candles

This stamp can be used in so many ways, and our Creative Team has had a lot of fun with it, so we have LOTS if ideas to show you! First let’s see what Suzanne Czosek has created:

Suzz has created some fun gift bags that can be used as little party favours or for gift cards!

Suzz stamped a tag with the Candles and Emulsion Frame Stamp to put inside the bag and then made a little tag using the Simple Sayings Vol 1 Stamp Set and added it to the bag with some string. The tissue paper inside the bag has also been stamped with the Candles Stamp! So fun!

These two cards were stamped with the Stars Stamp Set and the Candles Eclectic Stamp. On the second card, Suzz stamped the Candles inside the basic star shape too! Very clever!

For Suzz’s final card, she has stamped the Candles several times and layered them up with foam adhesive to give it a 3D look. Then added tickles to create a flame for the candles!

To read more information about all of Suzz’s cards, please visit her blog here

Next we have some wonderful cards by Godelieve Tijskens:

For this card Godelieve used Make Art Blendable Dye Ink Pads for the background and stamped the Candles over the top. The candles were then coloured in with Distress Markers. The card was finished off with a sentiment from the Birthday Sentiments Stamp! Read more about this card here.

This is a fabulous shaker card using the Birthday Sentiments Stamp and the Candles Eclectic Stamp in the background, and the Mesh Background Stamp and more candles on the front! Such a fun card to give for a birthday!! Read more about how this card was made here

The candles can also be used with the Birthday Word Block Stamp! Read more about this card here.

Next we have some fabulous ideas from Anneke De Clerck. The first one shows a pop up card where the candles are used in the centre of the card!

This is such a fun idea! The Candles stamp was stamped several times in different colours, then trimmed to be put inside the card. Here’s the front of the card:

And another look inside the card, with the Birthday Small Stamp inside too:

To read how you can create this pop up card, visit Anneke’s blog here.

Here’s another idea using the candles inside the Birthday Cake Photo Stamp! Read more here.

The candles also look great stamped in black over a colourful background! On this card Anneke used a combination of our circle stencils to create the background. The sentiment and balloons are from the Party Time Stamp Set. See more details here
