Abstract 01 Stamp Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Tuesday, July 16, 2019

Hi there! We have recently released a new series of stamps called Abstract Stamps! As the name suggests, these stamp designs are abstract in style so they can be used to add layers, borders or any extra element to your projects without being a specific subject matter. They are fabulous for gel printing, creating texture in thick embossing powders and clay, or simply used as stamps for your card and art journals.

We have released 4 new ones and today we’d like to share some card ideas using the Abstract 01 Stamp

First up we have a clever idea by Belinda Spencer where she has used the Abstract 01 Stamp as stems for the flowers!

Belinda used flowers from the Carved Flowers and Gardening Vol 2 Stamp Sets, along with the Fallen Leaves Background Stamp to create this card.

The Abstract 01 stamp is great for adding stamped layers to art journal pages, like Belinda has done in these two art journal spreads:

Aren’t these amazing!! To read more about Belinda’s projects, please visit her blog here.

Here are some great card ideas from Godelieve Tijskens:

On this card, Godelieve has used Scribble Sticks to ink up the stamp to create a watercolour effect in the stamping. You can read the full tutorial here.

For this card Godelieve has created am ombre background, then die cut a circle from the centre and turned it around to create a positive/negative effect. A clever way to add more interest to your cards! See more details here.

Godelieve has also used the Abstract 01 stamp to add layers to her art journal. Read more about how this page was created here.

Next we have some wonderful projects by Connie Mercer. Connie has used the Abstract 01 Stamp to create some fabulous bold backgrounds for her cards:

Connie has stamped the Abstract 01 stamp in two different coloured inks and in different directions to create the background. The shells stamped on top are from the Seashells Stamp Set

Connie has created a more subtle background for this card by using lighter inks. Isn’t it pretty! The stamps used on top are the Artist Brushes and Paint Splats Stamp Sets

Here is an art journal page where Connie has used the Abstract 01 as a part of the background layers. It’s a great stamp to add to your art journal pages!

These are just a few ideas to show how this stamp will look on your projects! If you’d like to see more Abstract Stamp projects, check out our Abstract Stamps Pinterest Board!

Cupcake Stamp Card Ideas

Darkroom Door - Friday, July 12, 2019

Hi there! We have recently released a new series of Eclectic Stamps! One of the new stamps in this release is the Cupcake

Today we have 3 card ideas to share from Belinda Spencer:

Belinda has used a monochromatic look to her cards and has paired the Cupcake with the Candles Eclectic Stamp, along with the Chevron Background Stamp and Circle Stencil Set. The sentiment is from the Party Time Stamp Set

This next card is made in the same way, but using pink ink colours with the Splatter Background Stamp and Alphabet Medley Stamp for the sentiment.

For this card Belinda used all three ink colours on the icing of the cupcake and used the Harlequin Background Stamp and another sentiment from the Party Time Stamp Set

To read more details on how these cards were created, please visit Belinda’s blog post here.

These are just a few ideas to show how this stamp can be used on your cards! If you’d like to see more Eclectic Stamp projects, check out our Eclectic Stamps Pinterest Board!

Beautiful Blooms Project Ideas

Darkroom Door - Wednesday, July 10, 2019

Hi there stampers! Today we have lots of wonderful projects to show you using the Beautiful Blooms Stamp Set! This set was designed by Rachel Greig and includes 4 detailed flower images and 3 sentiments that can be used together in so many ways!

Our Creative Team had a lot of fun with this set and we have lots to share with you! Let’s start with some projects by Godelieve Tijskens.

For these cards, Godelieve has used the Short Rectangle Stencil to create a frame for the blooms. You can read the full tutorial here.

Godelieve has a series called Sunday Scraps, where every Sunday she will create a card out of scraps on her craft table. This card uses strips of cardstock and gel printed pieces and she has stamped the Beautiful Bloom over the top in black ink. See more here.

This card is a wonderful pop of colour! Godelieve has used different inks to stamp the Beautiful Blooms, then stamped the Birthday Small Stamp and Candles Eclectic Stamp over the top! You can read the full tutorial here.

Godelieve also has a Black & White series on her blog where she creates projects simply in black & white! This is a simple yet stunning tag where the Spanish Tiles Background Stamp is used around the edges of the bloom. Read more here.

Next we have some fabulous projects by Anneke De Clerck:

Anneke has stamped the open bloom several times using Distress Oxide Inks, then masked the blooms to stamp the Checkered Background Stamp over the top.

This card uses the Arty Triangles Background Stamp in the background. So stunning! Read the full tutorial here.

This set of tags show how striking the flowers stamp over coloured backgrounds! See more photos and details on Anneke’s blog here.

Here’s a beautiful card showing how the Beautiful Blooms look when stamped with Wendy Vecchi Blendable Make Art Ink Pads. The colours are beautiful! Read more here.

We also have some lovely cards by Connie Mercer:

Connie has used the Creativity Medium Stencil to sponge a soft background - it looks perfect with the blooms!

For this card Connie used the Chicken Wire Background Stamp and the Bottles Stamp Set

Connie used the Carved Leaves Vol 1 Stamp Set to create leaves underneath the stamped blooms. Doesn’t it look fabulous!! You can read all about Connie’s cards on her blog here.

As you can see, there are so many ways the Beautiful Blooms Stamp Set can be used! If you’d like to see more projects from this stamp set, check out the Pinterest Board!

Birthday Small Stamp Card Ideas

Darkroom Door - Monday, July 08, 2019

Hi there! We have recently released a new series of stamps called Small Stamps! These stamps are just a bit smaller than our Quote Stamps, and each Small Stamp has a fun element added into the design. We have released 4 new ones and today we’d like to share some card ideas using the Birthday Small Stamp

Here are some great card ideas from Suzanne Czosek:

On this card, Suzz has used watercolour markers to ink up the Candles Eclectic Stamp and the Birthday Small Stamp so they co-ordinate. Love how the birthday sentiment is offset to the bottom left corner.

For this card Suzz masked off the balloon and created a new balloon and used it with the little bird from the Bird Life Stamp Set! Such a great idea!

Love the ombre stamping for the sentiment and the background, where Suzz used the fireworks stamp from the Celebration Stamp Set

For Suzz’s final card, she has used watercolour stamping for the Birthday sentiment, Daisy Eclectic Stamp, French Script Texture Stamp and the little butterflies from the Wings Stamp Set. It creates a beautiful soft card.

To read more information on how Suzz created these cards, please visit her blog here.

Next we have some wonderful cards by Anneke De Clerck to share. If you want to create some colourful backgrounds, or already have some ready to use, it’s so easy to use this stamp over the top!

Anneke has used a combination of the Large Circles Stencil, Arty Circles Stencil and various stamps to create the colourful backgrounds! Here’s a closer look:

To see how Anneke created these cards, check out her blog post here.

Here’s another great card from Anneke:

This time Anneke used the Checkered Background Stamp, Abstract 2 Stamp and the Tall Flowers stamps. It’s a bright combination with the pink and black inks! See more photos and details on Anneke’s blog here.

This is a quick and easy way to create a colourful birthday card by stamping the sentiment with different ink colours to create a full pattern! Another great idea from Anneke! Read more on her blog here.

As the Birthday Small Stamp is a square shape, it also looks great on square cards! Check out this card by Godelieve:

Godelieve used the Arty Circles Stencil and Abstract 1 Stamps to create the colourful background. More photos and details can be found on her blog here.

These are just a few ideas to show how this stamp will look on your cards! If you’d like to see more Small Stamp projects, check out our Small Stamps Pinterest Board!

Heart Stencil Set Ideas

Darkroom Door - Friday, July 05, 2019

Hi there! We have lot of project ideas to share with you today using the new Heart Stencil Set! This stencil set consists of a heart shape stencil with the matching solid shape that can be used as a mask. You can sponge or draw inside the heart or around the mask shape to create some interesting effects.

Here’s a couple of card ideas from Godelieve Tijskens:

In this first card Godelieve has sponged ink through the stencil and stamped over the top with the Thank You Small Stamp. You can read the full tutorial here

In this second card of Godelieve’s, she has sponged ink in the stencil then stitched around the edge! What a great idea! See more here.

For this card, Godelieve used the heart mask by placing it on white cardstock and sponging ink around the edges. Isn’t it beautiful!! See how this card was created here.

Suzz Czosek has also been busy with this stencil set and has lots of ideas to share! Take a look:

The Heart Stencil is a perfect backdrop for the Part Of You Quote Stamp. See how the stencil fits perfectly over the ‘heart of you’ words?

For this card Suzz sponged inside the Heart Stencil and kept the stencil in place to use it to mask the outside area so when she stamped the Robin Eclectic Stamp, it stayed within the heart.

This is a clever play on words, highlighting the word ART in the heart. Suzz has done this in different ways for the next few cards:

This next card is similar in design, but now uses the Love Word Block Stamp as a highlight within the heart Stencil. As you can see, it can be paired up with lots of different stamps and stencils!

You can read all about Suzz’s cards on her blog here.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these ideas using the Heart Stencil Set! If you’d like to see more ideas using our Small Stencil Sets, please check out the Stencils Pinterest Board. You can also find all of our Stencils here.

Gerberas Photo Stamp Ideas

Darkroom Door - Wednesday, July 03, 2019

Hi there! We have recently released a new series of Photo Stamps! Today we’d like to share some ideas and cards using the Gerberas Photo Stamp

As you can see, this is a beautifully detailed stamp which will look lovely stamped in different inks and colours. If you want the most details out of the stamp, we recommend stamping with permanent waterproof ink, such as Archival Ink (oil based). The image below shows the Gerberas stamped with Plum Archival Ink onto cream card stock.

You can also create some beautiful watercolour effects with this stamp if you use a water-based ink pad, such as Distress Inks. In the image above, the Gerberas were stamped with Distress Oxide ink pads and then a water brush was used to move the inks around slightly to create a watercolour effect. It is an easy technique that produces some stunning results! Of course you can try lots of different colours too!

Here’s a card by Rachel Greig using that watercolour technique:

The other stamps used on this card include the Splatter and Marbling Background Stamps, Butterflies Stamp Set and a quote from the Art De Fleur Vol 2 Stamp Set

Here are a couple of cards by Godelieve Tijskens:

This first card Godelieve stamped the Gerberas onto Kraft cardstock and coloured them in using coloured pencils. It’s a stunning effect! You can read the full tutorial here

In this card, Godelieve stamped the Gerberas with Wendy Vecchi ink pads and coloured in with Distress Oxide Inks. Read the full tutorial here.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these ideas! If you’d like to see more ideas using Photo Stamps, please check out the Photo Stamps Pinterest Board. You can also find all of our Photo Stamps here.

Large Carved Leaves Stencil Ideas

Darkroom Door - Monday, July 01, 2019

Hi there! Today we would like to share a few ideas using the Large Carved Leaves Stencil

This stencil was designed by Godelieve Tijskens, aka StampingMathilda. It was first released as a set of stamps and now we have it in a Small Stencil and a Large Stencil. The small stencil is great for cards and smaller projects, while the Large Stencil is perfect for art journal pages and larger cards and projects.

Here’s a few ideas showing the Large Stencil in use:

This art journal page by Rachel Greig shows how to use the stencil with Texture Paste. You can create some really grungy effects! Once the texture paste had dried, it was painted over with Dina Wakley Media paint and Glazing Medium

You can also dab embossing ink through the stencil and heat emboss with embossing powders, like Rachel has done here. It creates a really glossy raised effect and stands out on the page!

These cards by Godelieve Tijskens show how you can sponge ink through the stencil and stamp through the stencil to create patterns. See details on Godelieve’s blog here.

This card by Anneke De Clerck shows how it can be used as a subtle image in the background of a card. See more details on this project here.

These are just a few ideas! If you’d like to see more stencil projects, check out our Stencil Pinterest board!

You can also see some ideas using the Small Carved Leaves stencil here.
