A Thousand Miles Quote Stamp Ideas

Darkroom Door - Monday, December 10, 2018

Hi! Suzz Czosek here to share a few projects using the brand new Quote Stamp A Thousand Miles. I thought what a lovely inspirational quote for someone who is starting out on something new that might be challenging. Here’s what I have created:

Instructions:
1. Lay the small Sunshine Stencil over white cardstock. Sponge Yellow dye ink around the small circle on the stencil.
2. Sponge orange dye ink around the yellow dye ink, slightly overlapping. Then sponge purple dye ink around the orange dye ink, slightly overlapping.
3. Blend the overlaps with the lighter colored dye ink.  (example: blend between the purple and orange with the orange ink)
4. Cut the sponged background to fit front of card.
5. Stamp the A Thousand Miles Quote using black archival ink on right side.
6..Stamp VW Beetle Photo Stamp using black archival ink on white cardstock.
7. Color beetle with dye inks and waterbrush. Let dry.
8. Cut out beetle and adhere to background with foam dots.
9. Mount inky background to cardbase.
10. Rub on sentiments along rays of sunshine.

After I created my beetle card I was still thinking of sunshine and bright colors and decided to use the pretty Eclectic daisy stamp to create an ombre card.

Instructions:
1. Ink up a mat with yellow dye ink. Spritz with water.
2. Dab cardstock onto inky mat and pick up color onto background. Let dry.
3. Ink up A Thousand miles with yellow dye ink on the top third of the stamp. Ink up the middle of the stamp with orange dye ink and the bottom of the stamp with red dye ink.
4. Spritz the inky stamp with a mist of water and stamp the sentiment in the middle of the inky background.
5. Ink up the center of the daisy flower stamp with yellow dye ink, the middle with orange dye ink and the edges of the daisy stamp with red dye ink.
6. Mist the daisy stamp and stamp randomly around the sentiment.
7. Repeat inking and stamping the daisy around the sentiments.
8. Cut card front from stamped sentiment and flowers. (I cut mine to a long and narrow card size)
9. Stamp and cut a second set of flowers to add layers to the original images on the card front.
10. Attach second layers of flowers to card front.
11. Add bead centers to flowers with glue and randomly sprinkle glue and beads to front of card.
